Are you looking to use your creative content / editorial skills and interest in Primary Education in an exciting new role? We have an opportunity for an Editor – 12 month fixed-term maternity contract – to join a highly successful magazine publishing company who are experts in educational content. This role offers flexible working, and can be based either remotely, hybrid or at our client's office in Colchester amongst their supportive and friendly team of education professionals.
As the Education Editor for Primary your main remit will be to write, commission, edit and shape content to a high standard for the company's print and digital channels. This is a varied and exciting role where your responsibilities will include (amongst others):
Plan editorial content
Plan for and improve the SEO of the content
Research the education sector and discover the most important issues and challenges facing Primary teachers
Source and develop links with education experts
Provide contributors with detailed briefs and edit / rewrite work so that the content is consistently readable, informative and, crucially, entertaining
Proofread and oversee design amendments to content
Support the growth of social media channels
Generate ideas for supplements, books and campaigns throughout the year
Coordinate with staff across the education group to help market and drive subscriptions to key products
The ideal Editor will have excellent attention to detail and strong copywriting and content editing skills, including proofreading, and great creativity and digital editing skills, as well as knowledge of social media and SEO. This is a superb opportunity for a talented writer and / or content creator / editor with a passion for Education looking to evolve their experience within a content focused role, adding to the success of a widely recognised, and creative organisation.
