A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tutor to join our Education and Skills team within The Company to work with unemployed clients (aged 19 and over) delivering classroom based short courses for qualifications (up to Level 2 over a 2-4 week duration) in the following sectors. Employability, Care, Hospitality, Retail,
Customer Services, Facilities, Construction (we deliver Health & Safety in the Construction Environment and Underpinning Knowledge for CSCS Labourer Card test).
You will be required to work across multiple Training Centres/Venues in the Greater Manchester Area; therefore, this is an essential car user vacancy, and must have access to a vehicle every day.
Dimensions
·Number of delivery hours per week (6-24)
·Number of students taught per week(10-50)
·Number of 1:1/tutorial hours (4 – 8 hours per week)
·Level of programme taught (Entry level – Level 3)
·Programme leader responsibilities (HE tutors only) – matrix management of other tutors in relation to the programmes they lead
·Range of subject areas taught
Tutor specialisms (e.g. special needs, IAG etc)
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out initial and on-going assessment to ensure students are on the right programme and receiving the right level of support
• Plan & design appropriate training programmes including development of schemes of work and lesson plans taking account of individual requirements to ensure differentiation of learning
• Adopt effective use of new technologies to enhance the learning experience for students
• Deliver high quality, engaging training to encourage learners to attend, stay on programme and achieve
• Prepare students to undertake assignments successfully, complete portfolios of evidence or sit tests/exams to maintain high success rates
• Monitor and track students' progress, including through reviews to ensure high achievement rates
• Mark/assess students' work, provide structured feedback and set development objectives for students
• Liaise with internal quality assurance staff to ensure awarding body standards and deadlines are met
• Evaluate training and implement appropriate improvement actions
• Carry out accurate and timely completion of documentation to ensure contract compliance for GMCA AEB and other funding bodies
About You
• Have Industry experience in specialist area
• Experience of T&L quality standards especially Ofsted
• At least 1-2 years' teaching experience
Skills Required
• Subject-specific and teaching qualifications appropriate to the role
• Up to date knowledge of specialist subject area/professional qualifications as appropriate
• Must hold teaching qualification – PGCE, PGDE, Cert Ed, DTLLS (minimum of PTTLS required)
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and procedures including emergency evacuation
