Job Purpose: Engage with employers to support progression for learners
The Employer Engagement Officer is a key member of the PET Sales Team, supporting our learners to gain access to a variety of employment or further training opportunities. The post holder will be involved in identifying employers offering work placements and employment opportunities, which match the skills, experience and aspirations of the learner, whilst also coordinating work placement opportunities for learners.
The Employer Engagement Officer will ensure that they continually identify and build relationships with employers and FE providers. The role will also include offering advice and guidance about employment pathways, career development and career and job fair type of events.
The post holder will also add additional value to the Sales Team helping to develop ways to support learners’ personal development and transition to employment, apprenticeships or further education.

We are currently recruiting for a highly organised, Employer Engagement Officer to join our existing team.
The successful candidate will undertake the following main Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop an employer engagement plan in line with agreed performance measures. The plan will include rationale for employer targets along with short and long term goals, these will include:
* Building strong employer relationships
* Securing employment for learners
* Setting up and securing work placements or progression into further education
* Supporting the transition, where appropriate, from further education or work placement into employment
* Effectively seek out employers who are willing to provide employment opportunities and or work experience placements, which match the learners skills, experience and aspirations.
* Develop professional, long lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with employers
* Work collaboratively with the PET team in identifying new opportunities and to confidently, and successfully, identify areas where Skills People Group services may be of interest to employers and stakeholder partners.
* Establish, develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of local labour markets and issues affecting recruitment to share with others within the team.
* Confidently, and professionally, promote Skills People Groups Pre-Employment Services, by representing the organisation at appropriate events and presenting aims and objectives to potential employers which in turn would increase the awareness of Skills People Group services.
* Offer ongoing employer support, including other training services of Skills People Group, in the form of planning for future placement requirements with a view to retaining, and developing, the employer.
* Develop and maintain and effective process for monitoring and evaluating the success of placements including monitoring the employer data.
* Be responsible for obtaining, tracking and recording learner destination data on exit and post completion
* Provide reports for the Head of Sales monthly to review performance and present updates at regular team meetings.
The ideal candidate must possess the following Skills, Experience and Qualities:
Have a current network of contacts within the business and education sector
Strong and demonstrable experience in a high-volume sales environment
Good ICT skills, particularly with Microsoft packages including excel
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Able to follow processes
Enthusiasm in the workplace
Work well under pressure
The ideal candidate may possess the following desirable Skills, Experience and Qualities:
Construction sector experience
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Educated to a minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent.

Other details:
You will report to the Head of Sales
You will be based at C&G Assessments & Training Ltd, S20 3FR and travel will be required.

This position is subject to an enhanced criminal records check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and will be subject to satisfactory clearance of this check.
If this position is classed as Regulated Activity, it is subject to an Adult & Child barring check.
