Financial Planning Assistant. The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator, Trainee Paraplanner) for Paradigm Norton’s central London office (EC1V). The role of Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator) involves providing an administration service for the financial planners and client relationship managers who in turn provide financial planning and portfolio management services to high net worth clients.

The successful Financial Planning Assistant will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent administrative skills. They will have experience of working in the financial services sector although they will not be expected to know the intricacies of financial planning as training and support will be provided. While this is supporting the London team, we are happy to consider a degree of home working.

Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator, Trainee Paraplanner), responsibilities include:

* Providing the administrative assistance involved in providing financial planning and portfolio services to high net worth clients

* Assisting the financial planners with the preparation of client annual reviews.

* Processing new business applications

* Preparing letters of authority, obtaining policy information and updating records.

* Assisting in the production of relevant paperwork such as valuations, reports, illustrations, letters, application forms, spreadsheets, presentations and other documents as required by the team.

* Checking and updating valuations and other policy details.

* Developing relationships with clients, arranging client meetings and collating supporting documents.

* Ensuring the client database is up to date including checking and updating valuations and other policy details.

* General administration – filing and scanning documents, updating spreadsheets, typing, allocating and actioning post and answering the telephone as required.

Financial Planning Assistant (Financial Services Administrator, Trainee Paraplanner), skills and experience required:

* Previous experience in a financial services organisation – we have a preference for candidates who have worked in a Financial Planning environment, but we are happy to consider candidates who have worked in any financial services organisation and can demonstrate a commitment to entering the Financial Planning sector.

* Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a great eye for detail

* Professional appearance, confident manner and excellent communication skills

* Strong technology and mathematical aptitude with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and accurate typing and data input

* A team player with a “can do” attitude. There is a great team atmosphere in the office so we are looking for individuals who are adaptable to change and prepared to participate fully in the successful operation of the business.

* Interested in working towards a Diploma in Financial Planning.
