FM Buyer

Salary : £35000 – £36000/annum £36,000 + CIPS study support
We are working with a well-known FTSE 100 company to recruit a new FM Buyer.
This company has won awards for its sustainability efforts and has its sights set on being Climate Net-Zero by 2030.

The overall purpose of the FM Buyer role:
This role encompasses category management of the company's FM and site services.
The category comprises multiple services including waste, laundry, washroom, and hard FM.
These are critical for the company and present significant category growth opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
Support with planning, development and execution of a procurement strategy that delivers sustainable purchasing income & robust contracts with year-over-year improvements.
Engage with senior-level stakeholders across the organisation to jointly execute strategic projects.
Support category manager to achieve objectives and delivery milestones Skills and experience required:
Able to be natural and articulate around management. Good listening skills and ability to focus on issues critical to senior leaders. Can deliver communication concisely and steer the conversation towards decisions needed.
Working independently to solve challenging problems, with guidance required in only the most demanding situations.
Commercially focused, strong negotiator, exceptional communicator and influencer at all levels
Experience in category buying and sourcing preferably in FM category
Aspire to develop strong industry knowledge and understanding of the category
Supports direct report to achieve objectives and delivery milestones
Strong decision-maker, with good commercial acumen and market awareness who is comfortable working under pressure
Proven ability to reduce cost or provide added value against tough market backdrops
Can multi-task, remain calm under pressure and always maintain a strategic viewpoint
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload
Ability to see things through from development to completion
Demonstration of strategic procurement, which extends beyond tactical tenders
Ability to work under pressurised timelines and deadlines
Confident presenter
Versatile influencer, not afraid to challenge across all levels of seniority
