Description
We are recruiting Gardeners for a local authority client- To maintain green spaces, parks and public areas in the community:
Qualification – Essential
* 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
* Knowledge of minor landscaping works
* GNVQ Level 2 Horticulture or equivalent experience- Desirable
* Clean UK driving license and the ability to use trailers – Essential
* Basic machinery maintenance
* Intermediate user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
Essential – Skills, Abilities & Experience
* Previous experience with ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters, and pole saws.
* I have a working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, including Manual Handling and machinery and equipment used in gardening.
* Experience in working in a grounds maintenance setting.
* Knowledge of operating a variety of grass-cutting machinery and associated hand-held tools.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to complete works to a particular standard.
* Willing to take the initiative and identify potential improvements.
* Good understanding of Health and safety at work.
* Ability to use a range of garden equipment, including motorised equipment.
* Willingness to attend internal and external training.
* Good customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
* Self-motivated, flexible & resourceful.
* Trustworthy and reliable with excellent timekeeping.
Essential Compliance Requirements
* Three Years of Reference
* Enhanced DBS & barred list check
* A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
