Sweet Peas is a family-owned nursery that was established in 2010 with the purpose of enabling families to go to work with peace of mind, knowing their children are receiving exceptional care, education and life experiences. Sharing the same ownership and building is Monkey Maze – the area’s premier play site – consisting of an indoor soft play area hosting the best children’s parties around! A modern and stylish Barista style cafe which offers a varying menu and delicious homemade cakes and treats.
Your Mission
To “own” the nursery catering and cafe business and ensure the smooth running of the soft play centre, children’s parties and manage both teams effectively and cohesively whilst maximising all other revenue streams and maintaining the fun and safe culture of the business that is at the heart of the local community. The team and customers are a priority in everything we do!

Key Responsibilities
* Catering team, catering equipment, suppliers and menu creation /variation including nutrition and allergen requirements
* Monkey Maze team and play equipment, maintenance and cleanliness
* Team reviews with clear goals and structured targets. Regular group meetings to share ideas and suggestions
* Ensure all company and compliance processes and procedures are documented and followed by the team to ensure safe play & seek continuous improvement
* Maximise revenue opportunities to ensure that the profits, costs and targets are in line with the company budget
* Contribute to and deliver the company's’ plans and goals for Monkey Maze
* Recruit and coach the team to maximise its potential through ongoing learning & development
* Build an awesome culture and be Brand Aware providing the highest standards that will allow us to attract great customers and the best team
* Keep all records both financial and compliance up to date for reporting and meetings attendance as required
Key Experience
* Full P&L responsibility for a similar sized catering operation / cafe or restaurant
* Managing people & processes to deliver excellent customer service
* Working in a regulated and safety compliant arena
* Although not essential, experience in children’s soft play, leisure or activity centre would be beneficial
Key Qualities
* Approachable and considerate
* Exceptional front of house skills
* Be able to multi-task
* Adept at problem solving and fixing things!
In addition, you will have a caring, friendly and likeable nature. Be honest and have integrity, you will earn trust from your team whilst maintaining high standards and display enthusiasm and a good sense of humour.
Candidates from a catering Industry/Retail food/Leisure/ sports/activity/children’s play sector will be particularly suited.
