Our client is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker on an initial 2 Month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Pay Rate: £11.81 Per Hour PAYE
Location: PL2 2EP
Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, 08:00 – 16:00
Job Purpose:
The role holder will act as a member of a team and contribute to the delivery of burial, cremation, memorial, grounds maintenance and other infrastructure functions within the Council's cemeteries and closed churchyards.
Liaising with the bereaved, visitors and other stakeholders in a sensitive, professional and tactful manner. And should be able to communicate with empathy, sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure dignity and respect are given to the bereaved, visitors and other stakeholders before and after an interment.
Carry out a variety of grounds maintenance and horticultural duties at all PCC cemeteries and closed churchyards
To undertake some duties involved in the burial of the deceased (e.g. preparation and digging of the grave, followed by backfilling of the grave)
Ensure the careful use of associated equipment and machinery (e.g. grass cutter, strimmer, blower etc.)
Assist with any enquiries from members of the public, Funeral Directors, Clergy and Celebrants
To be suitably dressed and presentable in line with a Bereavement Service environment Skills and Experience:
Knowledge and experience in grounds maintenance
Working knowledge of Health and Safety
Either 2 GCSE's Grade A*-C (9-4) in English and Maths or equivalent OR Literacy and Numeracy commensurate with the grading of the post
Working knowledge of using associated equipment and machinery (e.g. grass cutter, strimmer blower etc.)
