Contract Type: 4-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 08:00 – 16:00
Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour PAYE
Job Purpose:
The successful applicant will help to ensure the Town is a clean, safe, and attractive place to work by completing a range of maintenance and cleansing activities including;
* Planting enhancements
* Maintenance
* Litter picking
* Emptying litter and dog bins
* Removal of fly-tipped waste
* Maintenance of public realm furniture, play areas, and structures
To apply for the role applicants must have a good knowledge of the Town and experience of grounds maintenance operations, cleansing methods, and suitable practical maintenance, i.e. painting and general repairs.
You will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions and exert physical effort for the majority of the working day to fulfill the requirements of the role.
You will be able to interact and communicate effectively with members of the public to portray a professional image of our Company and the Town Council and deliver a quality service.
Literacy and numeracy skills are essential along with the ability to use technology, particularly a smartphone to take photographs, record tasks, and post on social media when requested.
Requirements:
Drivers Licence essential
Previous experience in Mowing, Cutting, Strimming, planting
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
