Purpose of Role
To direct and oversee the integrity and accuracy of all financial activities, communicating insightful analysis to stakeholders which will drive continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the Chairman with fact-based data in the development of the group across all aspects of the business, whether product costing, funding, budgeting or strategic consideration.
* In conjunction with Operations, preparation for the board budgets, and financials to include Primary Statements with supporting analysis including assumptions and appropriate KPIs.
* Coordinate and oversea completion on International and UK compliance.
* Preparation of monthly group consolidated management information for the board and other stakeholders within 5-day timetable with full variance explanations and recommended corrective actions.
* Supervision, support and mentoring small team, including overseas based members.
* Full responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the financial data and systems. Safeguarding group assets.
* Oversee all accounting procedures and systems used by the Group. Constant development and improvement of systems and work processes.
* Hold monthly meetings with management to discuss operating performance and agree action plans where required.
* Manage relationships with Bankers, alternative funders, advisors and insurance providers.
* Manage and respond to government agencies (e.g., HMRC re VAT, PAYE and CT, export agencies and licences)
* Develop and maintain product costing and pricing models.
* Ad hoc reporting to include scenario and trend analysis.
* Any other duties as considered necessary as directed by the MD
Skills / Attributes Required
* Qualified Accountant, with a minimum 5 year PQE. (ACA or ACCA equivalents)
* Values align with company culture
* Previous Experience as a Finance Director
* Strong experience in Group Accounting including considerations and cash-flow management.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Strong staff management skills.
* Good Leadership skills.
* Flexibility.
* Excellent communication with team working skills with the ability to work with and influence others.
* Excellent IT skills essential including job costing systems and Microsoft Office.
