This stunning care home is currently looking for an Experienced HEAD CHEF to join there experienced and high-end care home they have a wonderful CQC rating of good in all areas and are looking for an experienced care home chef to join their kitchen team.
Job Details:
Position – Head chef
Pay Rate – £13 – 14 per hour
Contracted Hours – 40 hours per week Permanent contract
7am – 6pm shifts

Working as a Head Chef with the Catering Team, you will assist with the preparation; cooking and serving of high quality food and beverages to their residents, the home has a maximum of 63 residents.
As a Head Chef, you should be an excellent team player, with the ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure in a diverse and busy environment.

Full Job Description for this chef role is as follows:
Main Tasks for a Head Chef:
* Draw up varied menus which incorporate choice, are balanced and which are suitable to special diets, such as low fat, diabetic or those because of religious beliefs.
* Ensure that seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables are used whenever possible.
* Cater for special occasions within the home.
* Control stocks and purchases thereby allocating the quantity of materials
* Keep the purchase of materials within allocated budgets
* Prepare, cook and serve meals. Clear and wash up with the assistance of other staff.
* Ensure that all staff observe the kitchen hygiene and safety rules.
* Ensure that all kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and at the end of each shift leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
* Ensure that fridge / freezer and food temperatures are tested and recorded daily
* Ensure that all kitchen staff operate within the requirements of current legislation.
* Maintain the kitchen equipment as specified by respective manufacturers
* Supervise and help train junior or inexperienced staff in catering duties.
* Attend discussions/meetings/trainings organized by the home and/or Head Office
