Head Cook
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £20000 – £24000/annum
We are recruiting for a Head cook for our client – an initial accommodation centre based in Wakefield.
The purpose of the job is to deliver high quality food within budget and timescales to meet the needs of service users and contractual requirements, through effective planning, preparation and line management of kitchen staff.
Responsibilities include:
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff
* Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals
* Follow agreed menu plans set out by the company
* Follow all cleaning and compliance to a high standard
* Abide by all kitchen procedures and systems and ensure company standards are met particularly in relation to health and safety and food hygiene
* Other duties as required and will be issued after application
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Experience of working as a cook in a residential or similar setting
* Line management experience
* Awareness of issues surrounding employment, recruitment and appraisals
* Food safety certificate to at least level 3
* Excellent communication and it would be advantageous if you speak other languages in addition to English
Hours are as follows:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week
* Shifts are either 8am – 5pm or 11am – 8pm
* Weekends and bank holidays are required
