Head Cook

Salary : £21895/annum pro rota per annum
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Cook to oversee catering services for students, staff, and visitors. In a role that involves preparing school meals based on approved menus and includes supervisory responsibilities. If you are an experienced Head Cook with strong leadership skills and the ability to travel within Conwy County, this may be the role for you!
In the role of Head Cook role, you will be responsible for:
Organise, prepare and serve food at lunchtime for the students, staff and visitors
Provide on the job training for new cooks and colleagues
Cooking the meals required, portion control, food service, ordering, washing up and cleaning of kitchen and dining room
Be prepared to undergo appropriate training and development (sometimes outside normal working days/hours by prior arrangement) i.e. Intermediate Food Hygiene and Basic Nutrition.
General clerical/administrative duties
To be considered for the Head Cook role, you must have:
Previous experience as a Cook working in a busy kitchen with the ability to produce 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and evening meal)
Worked previously in a school kitchen style setting
Practical experience of food and beverage best practice including the production and service of good quality food
Knowledge of Health & Safety compliance requirements
Current Food Hygiene certificate
An enhanced DBS or willingness to undertake one
This is a fantastic permanent part- time role, working Monday to Friday, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. In return you will receive £21,895 pro rota per annum. The role is based throughout the County of Conwy so the ability to drive and have access to your own vehicle is essential
