Kitchen Assistant
Job Type : Contract, Temporary, Full Time
Salary : £10.50 – £11.50/hour + fantastic benefits
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistants to support the catering team in planning, organising and preparing healthy balanced diet meals for children aged between 3 months – 5 years old. There are full-time and part-time positions available from 20 – 40 hours per week and can offer a range of shift patterns with a trusted nursery who are able to offer the successful candidates a fantastic working environment and career prospects.
The Organisation
We’ve partnered with a highly regarded and successful nurseries across Berkshire, Surrey and Hertfordshire who provide early years education to boys and girls. The schools have outstanding feedback from parents in addition to very good ratings from their most recent quality inspection and aim to continue safeguarding young children and supporting the local community.
Job Responsibilities
* Support Chef with preparation of nutritious breakfasts, lunches and snacks for the children.
* Be aware of special dietary needs.
* Follow food hygiene and infection control procedures.
* Ensure that all equipment and materials are cleaned and cleared, leaving the kitchen neat & tidy.
* Receive, unload and store food and deliveries correctly.
Requirements
The successful Kitchen Assistant will:
* Have previous catering experience
* Have knowledge of health, safety and hygiene issues
* Have up-to-date DBS.
* Hold food hygiene or other catering certification (desirable)
* Previous experience working in a school/nursery environment is highly advantageous
