Kitchen Porter
Job Type : Temporary, Full Time
Salary : £10.42 – £20.50/hour
Meridian are currently looking for a hard-working and dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team at Kingsway Hospital.
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, as well as supporting the kitchen staff in their daily tasks.
The position requires flexibility Monday to Friday with some weekend work also being available when the rota requires it.
The shift pattern requires flexibility to work mornings (07:00-14:30) and afternoons (11:00-18:30) which is determined on the rota weekly.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste
Supporting the kitchen staff in preparing ingredients and dishes
Organizing and storing kitchen equipment and supplies
Assisting with deliveries and stock management
Performing other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
Drive meals and other Kitchen materials between sites at the hospital (electric mini van provided)Requirements:
A clean driving licence as you will be required to drive the van
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
