Kitchen Porter
Job Type : Temporary, Full Time
Salary : £9.50/hour
Here at Newstaff Employment Services we are currently looking for Kitchen Porters to join a well established hospitality organisation based in Markyate they will need support in one of their busy kitchens. Our client are offering two positions one based on 40 hours per week and one 32 hours per week. This will include a mixture of shifts morning and also the afternoon shift which is 14:30-22:30pm.
We are looking for candidates with a background in this tyoe of work! or is looking to move in to the catering industry, we would like the opportunity to help you learn and gain the skills you require. It would be very advantageous if you had at least a level 1 in food safety.
Duties will include:
Basic food preparation skills such as vegetable preparation
Understanding of kitchen equipment
Understanding of cleaning kitchen equipment
Understanding of cleaning kitchen areas and surfaces
Ability to prepare and clear food service
Knowledge of kitchen health and safety
Knowledge of food hygiene practices
Good oral communication
Attention to detail
Good level of numeracy
Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
Positive and approachable manner
Team player qualities
