Salary : £120 – £189/day
A position has become available for a KS2 teacher at an alternative provision school in Barnsley.
The School
The school provides a cross-phase education for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The learning environment provides a fun, energetic and emotionally safe space where pupils can thrive and move on to positive outcomes. The nature of the pupil can be challenging and complex with each pupil having an education health care plan.
The Role
The school are seeking a full time KS2 teacher to support in delivering a cross curriculum to pupils who have learning challenges, for example many have Autism, ADHD and mental health. You will need to be confident and enthusiastic, encouraging pupils to learn and develop themselves, plan individual learning and review progression daily. Responsibilities also include managing challenging behaviour and supporting social needs, you will be the inspiration for these young minds so the role requires a passionate committed individual.
The position is full time on an ongoing basis, there may also be the opportunity to apply for a permanent position.
The Person
The role requires a dynamic, creative individual who has desires to work with young people who have barriers to learning, also someone who can support young people who have their own challenges. Experience in KS2 is essential as you will plan and develop the curriculum. Team Teach would be an advantage but not essential, but strong behaviour management would be required.
