Salary : £60000 – £75000/annum

Our Client, a fast growing studio in Derby, are looking for a Lead Animator for their new FPS game.

As a Lead Animator you will be leading a team of animators to bring personality to the world that they are building, creating satisfying and reactive animations.

You will be responsible for working with the team to conceive, prototype and implement exciting features and sequences through keyframe animation and/or motion capture. Leading your team to create high and consistent quality across the game.

You will be required to work on site in the studio working on a 4 day working week basis.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of animators, providing mentorship, guidance, and feedback to ensure the highest quality animations.
Collaborate closely with the game design and art departments to understand the vision and requirements for character animations, player interactions, and environmental effects.
Create and implement compelling animations for characters, weapons, and various gameplay elements.
Develop and maintain animation pipelines and tools to optimize efficiency and ensure smooth integration of animations into the game engine.
Take ownership of animation-related technical challenges and find creative solutions to deliver outstanding results.
Stay up to date with the latest animation techniques and industry trends, and share knowledge and best practices with the team.
Review and provide feedback on the work of other animators, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to project deadlines.
Collaborate with other leads and team members to maintain a cohesive artistic vision and deliver an exceptional gaming experience.Requirements:

A minimum of 4 years of professional experience as an Senior animator in the gaming industry.
Strong proficiency in animation software such as Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, or equivalent.
Expertise in creating realistic and dynamic character animations, as well as environmental and gameplay animations.
Proven experience in leading a team of animators and delivering high-quality animations within project deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of animation principles, timing, and weight distribution, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
