Lead Construction Skills Coach and Curriculum Lead

BACKGROUND
Great opportunity for a developing Lead Skills Coach to learn how to coordinate, drive and embed rigorous and effective quality improvement/compliance and maintain a robust teaching, learning delivery and assessment strategy in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) that enables an outstanding learner and employer experience and timely progression, achievement and success.
SUMMARY OF POST
The post holder will actively engage with staff to monitor, improve, support and maintain high standards of curriculum delivery and compliance with OFSTED, providing high quality mentoring, CPD, Curriculum design from initial assessment to apprenticeship gateway, ensuring the department is inspection ready at all times.
The post holder will also maintain effective communications links with employers and apprentices in order to provide effective robust self-assessment and drive quality improvement across all aspect of the current Education Inspection framework, including, OFSTED, Matrix, awarding bodies, company policies and procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:
Ensure appropriate and sufficient forms of quality assurance culture, (Intent, implement and impact), are implemented to a high standard and lead on all quality related internal and external audits and inspections.
Plan, Co-ordinate, manage and oversee the quality of curriculum, delivery that encompass all values and wider issues to support the wellbeing and next steps of apprentices, with effective improvement process across all Qualifications and Standards.
To work in collaboration with Tutor/Assessors, IQAs and other staff/Managers to ensure active participation in all quality improvement processes including Curriculum, End point assessment preparation, delivery, compliance, self-assessment, action plans, caseload 1,2,1’s and performance review meetings are highly effective impact upon the apprentice development and wellbeing.
To implement, manage and maintain quality improvement processes, tracking and reporting systems to ensure that achievement of performance targets are being met, that the department can evidence impact on learners and employers with added value in line with self-assessment.
To identify, manage and report underperforming areas and implement robust actions plans which are clear about corrective actions and impact on learners and employers.
To work with staff/ delivery team/managers and be the main point of contact to mitigate learner/employer issues to ensure a high quality and fully compliant learning experience satisfies the requirements of internal and external quality standards and regulatory bodies.
To ensure that learner and employer data used for the departments quality improvement strategy is accurate and timely to maintain standardisation and outstanding delivery of teaching and learning.
To ensure the department is inspection ready at all times with the appropriate supporting evidence to present to regulative bodies.
To provide/maintain continual professional development by providing subject specialist teaching to apprentices, train/coach/mentor staff with regard to quality teaching/delivery processes, resource development to enable them to achieve good / outstanding grades at all times including the embedding of math, English and ICT, British Values, Safeguarding, E&D etc.
To ensure good/Outstanding Learning, Teaching and Assessment Observation practices are embedded across all Tutor/Assessors/IQAs
To ensure effective and robust assessment and internal verification procedures and practices are in place and being adhered to in line with company policies, regulatory and awarding requirements.
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as business needs arise and regularly provide updates and reports to the Head of Apprenticeships in order to provide effective governance.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Effective, efficient implementation of a robust delivery plan, quality assurance and improvement programme which focuses on the learner and employer experience
Support rigorous Self-Assessment and Quality review process
Accurate data/reports which supports overall and timely success rates and SAR process.
Regularly monitor the quality of teaching/training and learning to support the requirements of organisational values, OFSTED and ESFA compliance
Support tutor development and the delivery of good/outstanding teaching, learning and assessment
Compliant learner documentation and robust evidence gathering and presentation
Development of innovative, dynamic, and effective delivery plans, teaching and assessment resources which support effective and progressive learning and meet the needs of employers.
Support/maintain Inspection grade 1/2
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (Desirable)
Recognised teaching and training qualification (Essential)
Recognised work based assessor IQA/IV qualification (Essential)
Excellent organisational and communication skills (Essential).
Good creative and proactive skills in line with knowledge of sector specific apprenticeship standards. (Essential)
Knowledge and understanding of Functional Skills delivery (Essential)
GCSE Math and English grade C or above qualifications or recognised equivalent (Essential)
Management/construction qualification at Level 4 or above (Desirable)
