Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Legal Assistant – Residential Property. They are seeking someone who wants part-time hours (to be negotiated) on a salary of £28,000 FTE with solid experience in supporting fee earners in a residential property team. They are seeking someone with real initiative who is capable of organising the workload and fully supporting a fee earner so that they can get on with the legal work, while this role takes on the legwork if that makes sense.

This role will be specialising in completions and post completions work – handling all aspects of the completions/post completions work and providing support to fee earners as required. you will be involved in processing both sale and purchase files, interacting with lenders, solicitors etc to ensure that all documentation is compliant and made ready for file closure and archiving.

You will also deal with payments and refunds – reconciling the client account to close matters.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

– Review and drafting of documents

– Ordering searches

– Ordering title documents

– Submission of SDLT to HMRC

– Dealing with requisitions/correspondence from the Land registry

– Anti-money laundering checks

– Registration of transfer applications at Companies House and dealing with enquiries arising

– Preparing payments/refunds to Clients, Solicitors and Management companies

– Dealing with transfer formalities

– Carrying out other duties and responsibilities as may be required.

Requirements

* Experience in Residential Conveyancing work preferred

* Possess excellent IT skills

* Experience of case management systems preferred

* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and team working skills

* Be enthusiastic and reliable

* Demonstrate high standards of client service

* Have excellent organisational skills

* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), grade C and above (desirable).
