Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for an Assistant Legal Cashier on behalf of a Firm of Solicitors based in Chesterfield. The Assistant Legal Cashier will work closely with the Senior Cashier to provide an efficient and proactive service by adhering to service level agreements and meeting all compliance requirements.

This is a varied role which offers support to the firm’s Senior Legal Cashier, your key duties will include but will not be limited to:

* Assisting the Senior Legal Cashier with Bank Reconciliations, and Client Receipts

* Assisting with office and supplier queries

* Assisting with internal queries from staff

* The paying in and preparation of cheques daily

* The administration and reconciliation of petty cash

* The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings onto the system

* Preparing and inputting Purchase Ledger journal

* The processing of bank telegraphic transfers

* Financial management reporting as required

* Assisting in month end closing

* Ensuring all documentation is filed

* Ordering stationery for the firm on a regular basis and maintain control of the firm’ stationery and office supplies

* Provide cover for the reception team if requested to do so

* Performing client interest calculations

* Ad-hoc duties as required

To be considered for this role, you must have experience or working in a legal finance environment or legal qualifications with a genuine interest in Accounts and Finance.

This is an office-based role, however our client will consider applications from both Full time and part time candidates.
