About the role:
Our Client are looking to strengthen their residential property department with an ambitious and determined Legal Executive. You will be dealing with the full spectrum of residential property matters from initial instruction through to completion with minimal supervision. You will have lots of support but also the freedom to really make the role your own, and with a wide variety of clients, this is a very exciting career opportunity for someone with drive and determination.
What is expected:
* Handle existing work and to build up a case load of Residential conveyancing;
* Manage all client work allocated by the Head of Department in accordance with the detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s Office Manual;
* Ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs;
* At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner;
* Comply with the SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules, and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors as required by the SRA at all times;
* Ensure that all correspondence and enquiries are dealt with correctly and in a timely manner;
* Ensure the confidentiality and security of all the firm’s and client documentation and information;
* Achieve agreed levels of billing targets;
* Introduce clients to other fee earners, as appropriate;
* Be active in promoting the services of the firm and its image and ethos;
* Do everything possible to promote the firm within the local community and in particular, to work closely and liaise with local estate agents and other professionals to win new clients;
* Some travel required for business development, meetings and training purposes.
Skills / Experience:
* Relevant professional qualification or relevant industry experience.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in work area;
* Experience of social housing (not essential);
* A strong team player with a motivational hands‐on approach;
* Uses initiative, plans and organises own time and workload so as to meet deadlines and
* prioritises work;
* A pleasant but assertive manner in dealing with colleagues and clients; tact and resilience are essential qualities;
* A measured, rational and commercially focused approach to problem solving.
* Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
