My client one of the UK's Leading Inhouse FM providors is looking to recruit fa Banksman for their very busy Loading bay of one of their very prestigious landmark Buildings
Salary Paying £22,500
Hours 45 per week betwnn the hours of 6am – 9pm

Duties will Include but not be limited to:
* Responsible for directing the movement of vehicles and directing the movement of mobile plant, The Banksman will carefully be monitoring traffic numbers and spaces in bays.
* Clearly direct vehicles and mobile plant at all times ensuring they are kept separate from pedestrians.
* Reverse all vehicles into bays, being vigilant of any possible dangers.
* Use practical techniques and agreed system of signalling and hand signals to assist drivers and operatives in all manoeuvres.

* Be visible to drivers at all times whilst directing vehicles and plant.
* Stand in a safe position, from which to guide all vehicles without causing an obstruction.
* Keep traffic areas free of pedestrians.
* To ensure that all users of the Loading Dock/parking bays/areas observe and comply with the necessary regulations and precautions in respect of Health & Safety regulations.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers, CWM staff and contractors
* Report any near miss incidents involving vehicle movements to Line Manager
* To maintain good working relations with tenant representatives and suppliers/contractors and to use the booking system as required to confirm bookings and delivery activity.
* To promptly report to the Building Manager/Loading Dock Manager any problems relating to the operation of the Loading Dock/parking bays/areas.
* To carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Building Manager/Loading Dock Manager.
* To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the Company’s Health & Safety procedures and to ensure that the correct protective clothing is worn where applicable.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Previous experience as a Banksman on a large commercial development is essential
The duties will include standing for long periods and some strenuous physical activity
The Incumbent must be able to drive a forklift truck and be in possession of a current licence.
Possess relevant Banksman hand signalling skills, with the appropriate certification Level 2 Customised Award in Banksman Skills.
The incumbent must have an appreciation of the importance of customer service and how this is applied in the context of Canary Wharf.
