The Company
My client is a specialist products manufacturer supplying into a variety of industries. They have both UK and international sites and pride themselves on exceptional levels of service which is delivered by working closely with their customers to understand the specific needs of their business.
Through continued growth and development, they have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to design, deliver and install the processes required for New Product Introduction.
The Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Production Engineering Manager and will have responsibility for ensuring that NPI Projects are completed on time and to budget.
Additional responsibilities will include:
* Select, specify, and detail new equipment and assembly processes
* Design for manufacture
* Applying Lean manufacturing tools and techniques
* Developing on-going NPI & APQP processes
* PFMEA, DFMEA & Control plans
* Attending project meetings to report against the project timeline
* Manage the manufacture and delivery of production equipment
* Creation and submission of relevant setup data
* Overseeing installation, commissioning of new project equipment, inc. R&R and capability studies
The Candidate
The Manufacturing Engineer appointed to this role will have a track record of successful NPI project delivery from raw material specification to finished goods.
This will include:
* Manufacturing process experience such assembly and testing, cell design and development
* Being self-motivated and able to work as part of a team but also able to work autonomously.
* A Continuous Improvement / Lean mindset, as well as a logical approach to problem solving
* Understanding the commercial and financial aspects of NPI
* Being able to create details cost, resource, and capacity analysis calculations
* Excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills
