We are looking for a determined and driven Manufacturing Manager, with a proven track record in food manufacturing, to join a growing chilled food business based in beautiful Devon.

Reporting to the General Manager and as a key member of the site leadership team you will manage all production, hygiene and maintenance / engineering operations.

Role / Responsibilities:

To effectively manage all manufacturing activities – including: Production, Hygiene, Maintenance and Engineering.
Recruit, Lead and Develop Colleagues to produce high performing teams.
Manage Staffing Levels – continually looking to improve performance and productivity.
To ensure, at all times, that good / approved manufacturing practices and housekeeping and hygiene practices apply.
To seek profit improvement/cost reduction initiatives within all activities.
Work closely with the Technical Department to ensure all documentation is correctly completed and that all policies, procedures and relevant legislation is followed and adhered to.
To ensure an effective planned and preventative maintenance system is in place
Assume overall responsibility for all site related matters – include Health & Safety, Security and the maintenance of the building and surrounding grounds.
The Individual:

Demonstrable experience of managing food manufacturing operations – preferably with first-hand experience and knowledge of short shelf life, chilled food manufacturing techniques
Proven track record in effective people management – developing, coaching and motivating teams.
In-depth experience and understanding of current good manufacturing practices and knowledge of, or qualifications in, systems such as Six Sigma or 5 S’s.
Financially numerate with proven analytical and problem solving skills. Good commercial awareness and acumen.
An ability to build effective relationships internally / externally and be a team player.
A determination to succeed and 'get things done'.  Personally ambitious as well as for the company and its brands
To possess good attention to detail
Degree standard education (or equivalent), preferably related to Manufacturing, Engineering or Food Technology would be advantageous.
Candidates with a good understanding of, or training, in an engineering discipline will be treated favourably.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with an excellent package that includes a basic salary of circa £35-45K (dependant on skills and experience) plus Benefits.
