My client, Monty’s Bakehouse, was established in 2003 to supply handheld hot snacks to the leisure sector, and then quickly moved into the Aviation market, providing innovative and high-quality products to passengers. Fast forward to today and the reputation Monty’s has established in the aviation industry led to it being acquired by SATS, Asia’s leading airline caterer. SATS also have trading relationships with many of the world’s leading food brands in multiple markets.

They are now looking for their first Marketing Manager to take complete ownership of the entire suite of marketing functions and to become the voice of Monty’s Bakehouse across all channels and all territories.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to become a key player in a company with great products, a forward thinking culture and be surrounded by a great team, whose success is both positively encouraged and celebrated.

Job Purpose

The Marketing Manager’s key purpose is to develop the company’s marketing strategy across each channel, in line with the business plan, to increase the company’s profile, market share and penetration into new and existing markets.

The development of brands and communication plans for each channel is integral to the role, with support provided by the innovation and operational teams in both the UK and Singapore.

The Marketing & Brand Manager will have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and communication strategies. The individual will be able to put forward and lead innovative integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution, across multiple communication disciplines including social media, B2C, e-Commerce, print media, PR and exhibitions.

The Marketing Manager will oversee the design and development of all marketing collateral, product packaging and brand development. As part of this responsibility, they will manage and develop a small team including insights and graphic design resource.

Key Accountabilities

1.            Responsible for developing and executing the company’s marketing strategy across each channel, brand and product. This will include management of annual marketing budgets, marketing and brand strategy, and execution of projects and activities.

2.            Develop a robust marketing plan with clear goals, objectives and metrics for performance, for approval by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and CEO. Provide quarterly updates to monitor delivery of projects against the KPIs set.

3.            Maintain up to date information on all marketing strategies and campaigns, based on collected data and other qualitative feedback. Provide updates to ELT, channel leads and colleagues as required.

4.            Collaborate with heads of revenue channels to review the performance of current brands, products and services and in line with directional brief, develop the rationale and ideas for future revenue development.

5.            Work with the global innovation team across UK and Asia, supporting marketing and brand strategy, and execution of specific projects and activities.

6.            Be the thought leader on marketing performance through research and analysis of market trends, demographics, pricing strategies, competitor products and any other relevant information, to inform the company and deliver brand value, market measurement and consumer led innovation.

7.            Select and manage all marketing suppliers and partners including design, communication agencies to lead the development of new brands, product launches and communication plans (all channels) for each of the company’s revenue channels.

8.            Responsible for all marketing collateral – published materials, digital content, photography, licences and artworks generated by the marketing team, ensuring accurate and completed in full, to brief and on-time.

9.            Take a lead role in managing trade shows, exhibitions and company events.

10.         Lead the recruitment, development, motivation and retention of appropriate, skilled team members within the marketing team, to meet functional objectives within agreed budgets.

Specifically

1.            Plan and manage the execution of all digital marketing, including SEO / SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.

2.            Design, build and maintain our social media presence.

3.            Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).

4.            Identify trends and insights and optimise digital spend and performance based on the insights gained.

5.            Brainstorm new and creative digital growth strategies.

6.            Collaborate with internal and external teams to create landing pages and optimise user experience.

7.            Evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.

8.            Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.

Experience Required

•             Bachelor’s degree in marketing / relevant business degree or awarded MCIM status within Charted Institute of Marketing AND at least 5 years of experience marketing

•             Experience in the food sector or FMCG essential.

•             Strong analytical and project management and data-driven thinker.

•             Demonstrable experience of SEO / SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns, website analytics tools and social media platforms.

•             Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital and non-digital campaigns that engage, inform and convert.

•             Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints, with website builder experience desirable.

•             Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
