Materials Coordinator

I am recruiting for a materials coordinator to work in the offices of a business based just on the outskirts of York. The role will involve working in a busy office environment and also working within the manufacturing department, transport and warehouse. This is a varied role where you will need to communicate with multiple teams, you must have excellent organisational and communication skills, good I.T skills and be happy to pitch in at all levels from operating a FLT (Training provided) to ordering stock on the computer systems.
Job Tasks
• Plan and oversee the intake of materials and goods intake processes,
weighing deliveries and taking product samples.
• Order and plan logistics for all materials required for production and
delivery, both bulk and bags.
• Assist with testing of product samples when necessary.
• Assist with public weighs using the company weighbridge.
• Assist with stock control and stock rotation.
Warehouse/ On-site Operations
• Organise and supervise cleaning of raw material bins and carry out cleaning
of weighbridge and office exterior area.
• Provide cover for Warehouse Operatives when necessary, undertaking
aspects of their role as required, such as blending shed operations.
• Assist with loading and dispatch of bulk vehicles efficiently and in line with
Company procedures.
• To check with the Technical Manager or deputy for what action(s) are
required for any feed safety incidents.
Record-keeping
• Assist with upkeep of company records, including procedural records such as
work instructions, and financial records such as invoices.
• Assist with internal and external audit processes such as UFAS and HACCP
inspections.
Customer Service
• Providing a quality service to customers by taking and logging orders, and by
communicating with relevant departments (Transport/Production/Sales) to
ensure that orders are processed correctly.
• Respond appropriately to customer queries and complaints and take
necessary action.
• Work alongside the Purchasing Manager, Operations /Manager and other maintenance staff to ensure effective maintenance of the
site, including organising and overseeing external contractors and service
providers.
• Provide cover for the Raw Materials Logistics Planner as required.
In addition to the above, the post holder will be expected to carry out any
reasonable task which falls within the scope and purpose of the post.
This is working 5 x 8 hour shifts (some Saturdays involved)
