M&E Purchasing Coordinator

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £25000 – £30000/annum Plus Package

 

Red Rock are currently working with a lading M & E provider based in the Wolverhampton area. Founded in 1988 my client has grown and due to growth, they are seeking an enthusiastic person with a can-do attitude to join our purchasing department, ideally with an electrical background to enable the development of purchasing within this area – but candidates with a mechanical background will be considered; you must have experience and product knowledge in either of these disciplines.
A Key part of the role will be to ensure that the materials are purchased on budget. Equally important is the availability of materials, it is imperative that delivery dates coincide with scheduled installation dates.
Experience of purchase order systems and procedures is required, as is the ability to analyse quotations for budgetary compliance and to be able to offer alternative products.
The role will involve liaising with site employees, taking telephone and email requests for materials and then ordering and arranging their delivery to site ensuring purchase orders are placed in a timely manner. Other duties required include:
* Maintaining the purchasing matrix of suppliers, products/services, and costs
* Assisting with development of purchasing processes and procedure
* Policing of purchasing processes and procedures
* Maintaining authority matrix and ensuring all purchases are authorised in line with this
* Supporting the operations in raising requisitions and orders
* Controlling the issue of purchase order books
* Matching delivery tickets to purchase orders and passing to the accounts department
* Checking invoice prices against the purchasing matrix of costs
* Resolving invoice queries with suppliers
* Ensuring returns are made timely and associated credit notes are processed
* Controlling credit card purchases and ensuring all supporting documentation is passes to the accounts department
* Implementation of software upgrades and suggestions for process change around this
* Development of control for sub-contractor terms and conditions
* Controlling of sub-contract orders in line with the authority matrix
* Providing support on any other business purchases as required
* Supporting the business by undertaking administrative duties as needed e.g. telephone call answering
Personal Characteristics & Skills
* Experience of working within an M&E environment
* Purchasing experience of bespoke mechanical and electrical items
* Good communication skills
* Understanding the full end to end process of purchasing
* Detailed, methodical, and organised
* Able to prioritise
* Able to work as part of a team
