Salary :

Films at 59 are looking for a Media Archive Operator to join our Media Operations team. Using state of the art workflows and technology, this important role is responsible for the archiving and safeguarding of media, rushes and deliverables.

Our business delivers a highly professional, seamless and supportive service to our clients and this role should excite you. The Media Archive Operator will need to liaise with our scheduling teams, understand, organise and execute the workload, work closely with all departments, manufacturers and suppliers and ensure all tasks are completed on time and to the correct specifications.

Key responsibilities:

* Archiving and backing up media and metadata to LTO and Nearline Storage Systems

* Restoring and preparing media ready for the editing and grading processes

* Understanding our projects schedules and managing the workload of all archive and restore requests to meet client deadlines

* Training and mentoring others in how to use our systems and procedures and planning and overseeing workload for evening and weekend team members

* Responsible for the administration and maintenance of our LTO and Archive systems

* Working with suppliers and manufacturers to manage any technical issues and keep abreast of new technologies and workflows

The successful candidate will join an exceptional team and will need to demonstrate evidence of the following:

* A minimum of 3 years experience managing and archiving media or data

* Experience using LTO and media or data archiving systems

* A good understanding of tiered storage platforms and archiving best practices

* Proven ability to manage the workload of themselves and others

* Experience of training others

* An interest in archiving strategies and media management

* Enthusiasm about the film and television industry

* First class communication and interpersonal skills

* A meticulous approach to work.

An understanding of post production technology and workflows is an advantage but not essential.
