Motorsport Build Technician
Job Type : Contract, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £35000/annum
We are currently looking for a Motorsport Vehicle Build Technician to work for a growing organisation near Northampton.
It is essential that applicants have experience working in a motorsport / prototype environment.
12 month fixed term contract, with extensions and/or permanent positions likely after initial period.
£30,000 – 35,000 guide starting salary.
Key accountabilities:
* Assembly of high-value Prototype and Production vehicles to the required standard, including sub assembly of components.
* Working with the wider project team to keep production on schedule.
* Provide hands on technical support to the Vehicle Build Technician team
Essential:
* A background in niche, low volume or motorsport engineering with a broad understanding of vehicle systems.
* Experience of assembling Prototype and Production vehicles.
* Experience of whole vehicle builds.
* Experience using a variety of handheld tools.
* Experience of working with precision components.
* Experience of building mechanical and electromechanical components.
* Comfortable working to tight time frames and demanding quality requirements.
Desirable:
* Electric Vehicle / Hybrid Level 3 qualification (IMI or equivalent)
* Fabrication and machine shop skills – that include component manufacture and welding steel & aluminium (MIG & TIG)
* An interest in and knowledge of electric systems
* Knowledge of working with composite materials and correct technique for cutting/bonding composite materials
