Working days and hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 7.30pm, working 3 x 12 hours shifts per week, worked flexibly across a 4 week rota

Please note this role may involve working on Hospital Wards that may have COVID patients.
Overall purpose of the role
* Provide patients with an excellent standard of meal and snack delivery service.
* Support nursing staff in maintaining a clean and suitable environment at the bedside for meals to be eaten by patients.
* Uphold and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the ward kitchens and meal delivery areas.
* Support the Supervisor in providing a comprehensive meal service to meet the nutritional and environmental needs of the patient.
Duties of this role include:
* Prepare patients and their environment for meals.
* Ensure that all utensils, plates, cutlery and cups are within easy reach of the patient.
* Refresh the water and glasses at least three times a day.
* Deliver meals, ensuring the patient is offered choice and alternative food/supplement as required.
* Meals served will be presentable and appetite inducing.
* Meals served will meet with the patients nutritional requirements.
* Has an understanding of how a patient condition/procedure may impact on appetite and ability to eat/drink.
* Assist the patient to eat and drink whenever necessary reporting any concerns to the Head Housekeeper and nurse caring for the patient.
* Alerts the relevant person when there are changes noticed in the patients ability to eat/drink
* Undertaking the day to day cleaning of patient, public and employee areas.
* Housekeepers undertake a range of services throughout the client’s facilities.
* Maintaining a safe and pleasant environment for patients, visitors and client employees.
* Replenishment of linen and consumables.
* Flexibility to work in all departments (including theatre areas) and at other client sites where appropriate and as requested
* Any cleaning duties required by manager, department and colleagues
