NHS Catering Manager (Multisite)
Job Type : Contract, Full Time
Salary : £29.29/hour
A large NHS organisation are currently looking for an experienced Catering professional, who holds experience of catering services management across several locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and developing the catering services for the organisation, providing a high quality patient service within the designated resources and maximise income opportunities;
Ensuring that all catering services meet the requirements of the Food Safety Act, food hygiene legislation and comply with national requirements such as the Hospital Food Review 2020;
Utilising the expertise of caterers and clinical experience of dietitians and speech and language therapists to ensure that patients receive a high quality, appropriate and nutritionally adequate food;
To manage the designated pay and non-pay budget for the site. Keep tight control on staff attendance, overtime and use of agency staff;
Be responsible for having practical systems in place for managing food waste;
To undertake appropriate action where service falls below agreed standards;
Ensure that the Catering Department complies with HACCP legislation and that it can present audit trials with a due diligence defence;
Ensure all monitoring and documentation is carried out correctly as specified through Quality Assurance documentation e.g. ISO 9001:2008 as appropriate;
To manage staff and take responsibility for staff training and development, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Successful candidate will have:
Evidence of continued professional development, within the catering field ideally NHS based;
Financial management experience including understanding of income and expenditure;
Working knowledge of HACCP legislation, and understanding of Quality Assurance documentation e.g. ISO 9001:2008 as appropriate;
