Nursery Cook
Job Type : Permanent, Part Time, Part Time
Salary : £10.50 – £11/hour
We are looking for a nursery cook at our private day nursery. This position is a term time only role with a shift pattern on 9:30-3:30pm Monday to Friday.
The ideal candidate will have a level 2 certificate in Food and Hygiene.
A DBS will be carried out before starting.
Main Duties:
1 To adhere to the current ordering system.
2 To ensure correct storage of food and pay due diligence to stock control.
3 To adhere to the existing menus.
4 To cook and co-ordinate the serving of meals and snacks.
5 To wash-up kitchen equipment.
6 To adhere to all the relevant Nursery Policies and Procedures.
7 To share responsibility with all staff for hygiene and risk assessment within the kitchen area.
8 Show due diligence in implementing the controls put in place by Management. For example:-
· ensuring the correct food is prepared for children with allergies,
· recording the daily temperature of the refrigerator and freezers.
9 Adhering to instructions given by the Nursery Manager or Officer-in-Charge/Room Leaders with regard to:-
· Content of meals,
· Portion control
· Any other special instructions.
Part-time hours: 25-30 per week
Schedule:
* Day shift
* Monday to Friday
* No weekends
Experience:
* Food preparation: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* level 2 in food hygiene (preferred)
