What you’ll be doing…
We are looking for a polytunnel supervisor to join us between April and October. This role is largely based in our polytunnels though there will also be some outside work involved. You will look after everything from planting through to clearing and will mainly be working with basil, tomatoes, and mini cucumbers.
Working alongside other one other supervisor, during the peak of summer you could be looking after a team of around 20, so some previous experience of leading a team in an agricultural setting would be desirable.
You’ll be a great people-person, motivating and coaching your team to achieve what they need to every day. This will take someone well organised, great at planning and prioritising, reliable, hard-working, and confident at communicating.
Skills & experience…
* Ideally, experience of supervising a team in an agricultural setting
* Experience of covered cropping (polytunnels/greenhouses) preferred
* Experience with tomatoes/cucumbers preferred
* Able to be hands on with the team, working with them and setting a good work rate, as well as organising and keeping an eye on the quality of the work
* Full driving license
What are the hours? The role is 39 hours per week, with some overtime. Normal hours are 6.45am-3pm spread over Sunday to Friday (usually 4:45am start in the summer).
What are we paying? £12.26 per hour (from 1st April 2023)
