Power BI Developer
Required Power BI Developer for an intail 6month contract, which is likely to be extended, working within the IT department withtin the client organisation responsible for the construction and operation of the UK’s new High-Speed Railway to directly link the city centres of: London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.
Job Purpose
The Power BI Developer will be required to assist in the provision of high quality reporting and analytics processes and tools for the programme as well as delivering the data science capability to ensure HS2 is able to exploit their valuable information and data using the latest tools and techniques.
You will be working on a large range of projects where you will create dashboards, reports, data modelling – projects could include: report for the Land and Propoerty department regarding land and property purchases, stakeholder engagement report etc.
Looking for a Power BI developer who is very proficient in Power BI able to create reports, dashboards and model data and in addition code in SQL (plus CCIS)
Working Situation – Hybrid very flexible
Role is based from Birmingham, Snowhill coupled with Hybrid working – expectation is to work 1 days a week from the office and the rest of the time at home. This is a modern flexible employer.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Support HS2’s strategy for data analysis, ensuring it is in line with business needs, the Delivery Strategy, Information Strategy and IT Strategy
* Lead internal consultancy and delivery projects to enable the organisation to get maximum value from its information
* Monitor emerging technologies for relevance to HS2’s needs and propose potential solutions in the areas of business intelligence, management reporting, data exploitation and data analytics
* Lead work to bring data analytics approach into programme controls and design/engineering processes to aid decision making and support HS2’s BIM capability, in particular using data to aid cross-functional working across these disciplines.
* Use data science and exploitation to drive intelligent decision making across the entire HS2 programme.
* Work with stakeholders across ICT and HS2 to ensure technology strategy supports data analysis needs, providing the best-in-breed tools to support the HS2’s requirements. Provides support and maintenance of analytics and BI solutions.
* Work with stakeholders across the organisation to explain, educate and enthuse on the opportunities of information and methods for business intelligence, management reporting, data exploitation and data analytics
* Support the Data Analytics Manager in establishing a high-performing data analytics team as a key part of the overall Information Management team. This team provides support for wider capability in data analytics across the HS2 business
