Principal Aerospace Engineer (Flight Physics)
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £55000 – £65000/annum
Using your skills and experience you will be responsible for providing Flight Physics Rotary Wing technical input to multi-disciplinary projects in line with customer requirements.
You’ll be involved in various areas of helicopters, providing crucial assessment of the platform’s capability for, rapid movement, speed, height, weight and general areas of the airframes. You will be involved with all areas of assisting the MOD in their selection of airframes using your expertise and industry experience.
* Delivering Flight Physics specialist technical principals and advice, research, consultancy tasks, technical governance and in-depth commercial awareness in line with the customer requirement(s)
* Assisting in the selection of airframes and assessment of capability such as safety and performance to the client (MOD)
* Completing specific specialist technical activities
* Appropriately utilising technical processes, methods and tools within the specialist area to deliver tasks
* Integrity to make technical judgements based on the analysis of Flight Physics information.
* Lead of very complex work or mentoring/leading of large teams
Qualifications & Experience:
* Chartered Engineer
* Experience working within rotary wing platforms such as Wildcat, Merlin and Chinook.
* Experience of managing a team of professionals
* Understanding of flight physics, airframes and their capabilities and associated risks.
* Hold currently UK security clearance or be eligible
