The Work Shop are delighted to be recruiting a Private Cook/Assistant Housekeeper for a Private Estate based in the centre of Romsey. This is a unique role within a wonderful location to work for one of Romsey`s most historic houses.
We require a part time Private Cook/Assistant Housekeeper with a friendly, conscientious, and self-motivating attitude to cook, prepare food, and help with basic housekeeping duties. As a Chef/Cook and House Manager’s Assistant you are responsible in assisting the House Manager in their duties on a country Estate. This is to ensure that the House operates in an efficient, practical, economic, and enjoyable manner for all, and that a high standard of presentation, tidiness and cleanliness is maintained.

The main responsibilities of the Cook/Assistant Housekeeper
* Helping prepare and cook the meals for the Lady and her family
* Ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy
* Assisting the House Manager with their duties
* Assisting the Housekeepers with their responsibilities (If needed)
* Other basic tasks around the house which include, cleaning silver, grocery shopping for the kitchen, letting contractors in and other small tasks.
* Driving to collect or deliver goods
The Successful Cook/Housekeeper Applicant
The successful applicant must be reliable, punctual, friendly and of smart appearance. Experience as a Chef/Cook is imperative. Training can be provided for the other responsibilities of the position.
Hours of Work
The position is part time on Sundays and Mondays for 10 hours each day worked, from 07.00 – 14.30 and 18.00 – 20.30 on each day.
In addition, occasional extra cover for holidays and special events is required.
A full driving license is essential.
