Job Summary: 

The Process Owner Assembly (Make & Pack, Pick & Pack and Wash & Pack) provides leadership and supports the unit’s business strategy by developing functional strategies, setting new standards and developing and implementing new processes and short to mid-term operational plans. The role directly influences the outcomes and control activity within own area of responsibility. The job holder is responsible for setting objectives and delivering results to agreed budgeted service, quality and customer targets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Overseas the Assembly function Make&Pack, Pick&Pack and Wash&Pack including financial and operational performance. 
Directs and monitors all production activities to maximise the use of the organisation's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules, volume, cost, wastage targets, and quality standards.
Drives Continuous Improvement and gateOPEX (In-house Operational Excellence Programme) initiatives to improve and deliver business objectives. Identifies deviations between target and actual costs formulates action plans and follows up.
Ensures legal/compliance requirements across health and safety, food safety, and security.
Works in conjunction with the General Manager in order to develop the unit strategic plan in line with gategroup standards.
Collaborates closely with other operational areas and support functions of the unit.
Excels at leading people and teams, creates an inclusive work environment.
Maintains an environment of high employee engagement. Performs Daily Patrol to identify issues before they become problems and to interact with the staff by recognizing and identifying a job well performed.
Define the local 5S target state for all work areas in all sections following gateOPEX guidelines
Define the Master Production schedule together with Culinary, Service Delivery, Planning & Supply Chain and other applicable departments.
Supports and participates in customer visits. 
Coaches and mentors’ direct reports.
Coordinates with other operational areas of the unit to ensure optimal service for internal and external customer
Acts as a role model of the company values.
Implements action plans and identifiers training needs to achieve improvements
Support with any other reasonable tasks and requests from the management team.      

Qualifications: 

Education: 

Degree educated preferred and/or relevant equivalent work experience at similar level Professional qualification in operations/logistics preferred.
Desirable specialization/qualification in Operations, logistics incorporating people Management 

Work Experience: 

Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced operational work environment.
Previous management experience with a demonstrable track record of leadership and senior management activities / responsibilities.
Experience of leading and managing a team of managers / large teams (c 250 employees).
Experience of process improvement and change management. 
Relevant knowledge about the food industry preferred, with a preference for (airline) catering will be an advantage.  

Other Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration) 

NEBOSH / Food Safety certification
Continuous Improvement / Lean management certification / training preferred
Analytical and Numerical skills
Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail 
Must always demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues
Ability to build relations and manage diverse teams
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English 
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) 
Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
