Production / Manufacturing Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £34000/annum £30k to £34k / annum
We are recruiting for an experienced Production / Manufacturing Engineer to work for a manufacturing company located in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
The purpose of the role is to develop process and systems improvements in the manufacturing operations.
Reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidate will create and implement an improvement plan with the objective of minimising costs and maximising efficiency ensuring safety and quality requirements are met.
THE DUTIES:
* Use appropriate work study techniques to carry out full analysis of current processes and implement systematic improvement plan.
* Communicate with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate the production process.
* Identify inefficiencies and synergies across operations.
* Evaluate work instructions and standard operating procedures.
* Establish standard operating times and estimate staffing requirements and related costs.
* Plan workforce utilisation, space requirement, workflow and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
* Create and deliver training material to implement improvements
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
* Formal qualification in an Engineering discipline (minimum ONC).
* Work study trained / knowledge of time study/motion study, layout planning and other industrial engineering functions.
* Experience and training in CI techniques (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) – desirable.
* Experience fast paced manufacturing/production engineering operations.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organisation skills.
THE PACKAGE:
You will be paid a basic salary of between £30,000 and £34,000 / annum (depending on experience), plus outstanding benefits.
