About Us
Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of around 100 world-class metallurgists, mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers working across three offices in the UK and one in the US, building the future of advanced metal components. We use proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling, as well as extensive experimental facilities, to 3D print metal components better and faster than anyone else.
At our premises in Yarnton and Abingdon, near Oxford, we are aiming to build the world’s fastest, smartest, and best-equipped facility for the rapid development of additively manufactured parts for the electronics, aerospace and industrial sectors, and novel metal alloys for better performance.
The Production Planner Role:
Alloyed is seeking a motivated individual to join its energetic, growing team as a Production Planner, where your main responsibility will be coordinating production schedules, optimising resource utilisation, and ensuring timely delivery of parts.
You will work closely with the Head of Operations, engineers and technicians, and have a strong background in production planning, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will be based at Abingdon Business Park in South Oxford. Training will be provided where required.
Production Planner Responsibilities:
* Production Schedule Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, and engineering to create and maintain accurate production schedules that align with customer demands and business objectives.
* Resource Allocation: Analyse production capacity, manpower, equipment, and materials availability to ensure efficient resource allocation and optimal utilisation to meet production targets.
* Scheduling Adjustments: Adapt production schedules dynamically in a very fast-paced development and pre-production environment due to changes in customer project requirements, equipment breakdowns, or other unforeseen events.
* Performance Metrics Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and utilisation rates.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the production planning function and collaborate with relevant teams to implement effective solutions.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, generate reports on production performance, and present findings and recommendations to management as required.
Essential
* Experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles within the manufacturing industry.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and forecasts.
* Hands-on attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
* Organised and able to work independently, but also to collaborate with a diverse, fast-moving team.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Desirable
* Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience working in a precision engineering environment.
