Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA Assistant to join us for an 18 month fixed term contract at Florette in Lichfield.
Working as part of a dedicated team you will ensure quality standards and compliance are adhered to throughout our food production factory.
Working pattern: 4on 4off , 6am-6pm

Florette is one of three UK food manufacturing factories owned by the French co-operative group, Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions, with 280 farming outlets and 5 different divisions, which comprise Beverage, Dairy, Meat, Fresh Produce & Agricultural operations; it’s not just about lettuce! As well as the 3 factories we also have a farming operation – Agrial Fresh Farms. All UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial's vegetable division.
The business is more recognisable in the UK by its Florette salad brand and we are now one of the UK’s leading producers in the industry. Under the Florette brand, our site processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat fresh salad bags and bowls to well-known retailers in the UK. We have a recipe for success through our EPIC values and working together as one team.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct GMP audits with production and address any issues
* Verify traceability documents have been completed correctly and challenge any mistakes
* Log complaints and Foreign Bodies – conduct investigations and work with production to reduce reoccurrence
* Conduct CCP verifications
* Conduct fabrication/glass audits and liaise with maintenance when non conformances arise
* Adhere to testing schedule, competent in A-septic technique, basic understanding of micro analysis
* Ability to assess/monitor the quality of product at all stages in the process and conduct organoleptic testing
* An understanding of average weights and check weighers – programming and calculating tare weights
* A knowledgeable understanding of products manufactured on site including product specifications, products containing allergens, recipe changes
* Understanding of pest control – close out actions
* Understanding of the QMS (Quality Manual), relevant records and procedures
* Assist with customer / third party audits
* Conduct pre hygiene inspection and communicate non compliances
* Complete any internal or monthly full site audits as required
* Attend daily meetings as required
* Conduct traceability tests
* Conduct comprehensive investigations
* Non conformances/Corrective Actions – ensure they are followed up and closed out in a timely manner
* Suggest improvements within the factory and follow any actions recommended
Skills and Experience Required
* Competent in IT skills particularly Excel, use/understanding of in-house software systems, data analysis
* Awareness of all manufacturing functions and responsibilities
* Good communication skills and a desire to build cross functional relationships
* Good attention to detail with a tenacious approach to data accuracy
* Able to effectively prioritise workload
* Able to give clear instructions
* Basic food hygiene
* HACCP Level 3
* Auditing qualification
