The opportunity:
My client are currently offering the opportunity to join our team as a Relief Chef, working within our Independent Living extra care Schemes in and around the Cardiff, Newport, Ebbw Vale, and Bridgend areas. All our schemes provide the opportunity for people to live as active and as independent lives as possible, accommodation provides a real alternative to residential care.
What we need from you:
* A passion for great food and customer service skills – we need someone who loves good grub and will go beyond to provide excellent service and food to our tenants. In the absence of the Chef Manager, you will also lead the team to ensure consistently high standards of service and undertake general kitchen management duties, so not two days will be the same.
* Communication skills – as you will be a member of the kitchen team, you'll be working with many people, from the Chef and assistant chef to the service managers and our tenants. Therefore, you'll have to be approachable and friendly and enjoy a good chat!
* Working knowledge of Food preparation/catering-You will need to have a Basic Food Hygiene certificate (minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Food preparation/Catering) and knowledge of basic dietary and nutritional requirements. If you have a first aid certificate, let us know! If not, do not worry, as we'll provide training and support you through it. You will be responsible for preparing and serving meals along with supporting the team to set up the dining room and with all aspects of meal preparations and the daily close of the kitchen.
* Able to travel from site to site – this role will cover in and around Cardiff, Newport, Ebbw Vale and Bridgend, and maybe some additional sites in mid/North Wales.
* An enhanced DBS check will need to be carried out for this role
