Purpose of Role of the Business Development Manager:
Reporting directly to the UK Director, the RFID Strategic Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and leading the UK RFID sales effort. Working as part of the Sales team and with Marketing to target win and onboard new RFID programs and customers.
They will engage with existing customers and prospect and target new retail customers.
Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
Be a central point for RFID Sales in the UK team including…
Assist in content and thought leadership with Marketing to promote company’s unique RFID offering.
Support Sales teams on RFID opportunities via customer visits, presentations, and innovative solutions to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
Collaborate on RFID RFP / RFQ s received.
Drive sales through new business development opportunities
Develop a broad range of multi-level relationships within both new and existing retail customers.
Prepare a strategic business plan for RFID growth within the UK retail market.
Meet revenue targets established for any assigned key customers.
Monitor and keep up to date with market developments of RFID technologies and manufacturing techniques.
Regularly report initiatives, progress and advise Leadership Team
Meet Sales targets, prepare budget/forecasts.
Conduct regular meetings with clients to develop business and profile.
Conduct formal presentations to prospective retailers on company’s RFID solutions, new product launches, and key strategic plans for company etc.
Work closely with internal support teams to ensure the efficient day to day running of projects / accounts.
Provide comprehensive information on product requirements for development and pricing.
Produce regular reports to the UK Director on progress with account development and sales forecasts.
Qualifications:
Preferably educated to Degree Level, ideally in Business Science and/or Technology related.
Experience & Additional Requirements:
Sales background in a technology / print / retail environment with a minimum of 10 years’ experience
Strong knowledge of RFID technology, machine and commercial application for a minimum of 7 years' experience
Proven experience in business development and project management
Experience in corporate/customer presentations and negotiations
Understanding of Retail Environments / Supply Chain
Experienced in sales and new business development.
High level experience of client negotiations senior level.
Good commercial awareness with experience and knowledge of dealing with major international retail clients.
Understanding of industrial printing, material, consumables and RFID
Experienced in IT-capabilities and data information systems.
Experienced in communicating, directing and enthusing co-workers of different hierarchical and functional levels and background cultures.
Building bridges and understanding to a collective team goal
Exceptional communication skills
Experienced in strategy development and translation into viable solutions.
Salary & Benefits:
£55,000 – £65,000 pa depending on experience OTE £80,000 + (uncapped commission) car allowance, benefits.
