A bespoke Flexographic printing and Flexible Packaging Manufacturer who supply packaging solutions to a wide range of industries. Who are now looking for a Sales Account Manager to join their team paying £45,000 – £55,000pa depending on experience plus bonus.

The Role
Drive the Packaging sales activity in conjunction with the GSD and the team promoting & prospecting the product offerings of company within this division across the market to achieve maximum profitable sales potential in line with the pre-determined budgets and overall business expectations.
The role is remote working and the individual will be ‘out on the road’ each week either attending current customers or arranging to visit new potentials and this can involve travel outside of the UK. They will also be expected to attend site as and when required. There are times when they will be required to attend exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and nurture client relationships. Drive profitable sales growth within existing accounts, whilst defending current sales & supporting margins.
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets.
Identify and convert new opportunities within existing accounts for additional business.
Target new opportunities and market segments within the flexible packaging sector.
Understand customers’ requirements for new packaging solutions and, in conjunction with NPD (New Product Development) and provide and commercialise appropriate packaging solutions.
Expand and broaden the customer interface, understanding the structure and hierarchy of each account.
Communicate and influence at appropriate levels within each account.
Utilise to best effect the technical and innovation resources of the business.
Ensure timely and relative collation of management information including sales reporting.
Use Marketing Support Team to assist in prospecting for new business/leads
Working with the Group Marketing Manager to carry out the appropriate market research to identify potential customers for company.
Develop a plan to target those customers, ‘open the door’ and present company in a professional manner.
Establish and maintain appropriate contracts which deliver sales and margin security.
Complete monthly sales performance reporting against budget.
Prepare and finalise an annual sales budget in line with the business growth plan.
Ensure the 3-month forecast is updated weekly.
Attend quarterly sales meetings and prepare accordingly to discuss account activity.
Attend exhibitions or promotions as and when required.
Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
Manage existing accounts to ensure the maintenance of good working relationships and customer service are provided.
Understand customers’ strategy for packaging requirements and manage customer expectations whilst consistently achieving deadlines.
Liaise with internal Client Service Executives to remain aware of account activities and respond accordingly.
Ensure all customer trials are managed effectively through the business.
Communicate customers’ requirements effectively throughout the business.
Report monthly to your manager on previous month’s sales activity and accurate future forecasts and any appropriate business threats / opportunities.
General
Work alongside others within the business to promote and implement the company’s policies and goals.
Treat all colleagues in a professional, fair, and empathetic manner.
Be flexible to provide the required support wherever this may be required.
Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures always.
Always represent company in a professional manner.
Skill / Experience:
Experience of Print / Packaging industry essential.
Print or packaging technical experience ideal.
Highly motivated, driven self-starter.
Exceptional communication & negotiation skills, written, verbal and formal presentation skills.
Highly organised – deliver to deadlines.
Able to influence with the ability to drive ideas forward.
Sound commercial skills with the ability to understand detailed costing’s, estimates etc.
IT & Computer literate.
Flexibility to travel as the demands of the role require.
Experienced and proven account management record.
Able to build, influence and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
Determined with a will to succeed, tenacious.
Polished and professional.
Numerate.
Salary:
Up to £45,000 – £55,000pa depending on experience plus 20% bonus, car, laptop, phone & company benefits
