The Opportunity

As part of our Client’s growth plans, they are looking for an individual who is well-established in technical sales and has experience in selling construction products through Contractors, Engineers and Installers. It is an opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to enhance their career with the support of a highly regarded and rapidly growing brand.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Develop, create and follow up on leads to secure specifications on key projects in the Southern Counties.

* Create database of pipeline projects

* Proactively support identified technical accounts by;

* Providing on-site technical sales and support

* Developing new business leads

* Follow up on leads given buy Technical partner accounts

* Targeting contractors with the wider basket of products

* Working collaboratively to develop a contractors spend

* Supplying leads and enquiries internally

* Generate end user enquires independently by; Developing relationships with identified regional contractors, establishing contact and lead generation with new construction sites to be fed back to the CBM / Technical partner and utilising leads from internal resources and CBMs

* Pro-actively target, maintain direct contact and communicate professionally with key/new, contractors, on site installers and site managers to assist in securing project business.

* Work closely with in house engineering team to develop value added solutions for customers

* Support customers with consultations and product demonstrations at site (alongside the technical engineer).

* Maintain client database using CRM system

Person Specification

To succeed in this role, you will need to be self-motivated with the desire to achieve goals and possess the ability to generate and convert business leads into sales.

Skills

* Confidence to develop own work load through cold lead generation

* Ability to develop relationships quickly

* Previous history in construction sales

* Ability to learn product dynamics and applications quickly

* Confident providing solutions on one-to-one basis and also via formal presentations

* Commercial awareness, ability to secure and develop new business

Interpersonal Skills

* Self-motivated, reliable, persistent and thorough, well organised with an excellent customer focus

* Dynamic individual who can listen to clients and respond quickly to help them meet and exceed their expectations

* Charismatic individual with excellent communication skills

* Be able to relate successfully on all levels from site staff through to senior specifiers and decision makers

Experience

* Solid experience within construction industry, primarily in construction specification sales or lead generation capacity

* Understanding of procurement process would be an advantage

* Product Knowledge – Knowledge of existing products and fixing applications would be helpful, but full training will be provided to a suitable candidate

* Understanding of specification process in construction
