My client who are an ACS accredited company have been successfully operating since 1996. They have grown organically over the years and have a healthy year on year increase in turnover. They are looking to continue this expansion over the next couple of years and are currently looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help develop and grow the business. The role will be based in Derby (although predominantly Midlands based they do have contracts elsewhere), they are looking for an industry experienced sales professional to generate sales of Manned Guarding, Keyholding, Alarm Response, Mobile Patrols, CCTV and Alarm Installations. They also have a training centre set up ready to go for SIA Approved Training courses, First Aid etc and are looking for the BDM to promote and generate interest, expand on the courses we can offer and work alongside our in-house trainer. There will also be an element of account management. In summary this is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who wants to develop the sales and marketing function within a growing company and have an input into how the department develops.
The purpose of the role is to identify key opportunities and clients, develop highly effective relationships with key decision makers, while taking responsibility for a target of agreed leads. Have a strong market understanding, leverage existing group relationships to obtain new business. The main responsibilities are
• Identifying opportunities for new business through market research and develop profitable new business
• Communication with existing and potential customers across the region
• Completion of tenders, PQQ’s, RFI’s etc.
• Attending tender site visits, client meetings and submission interviews, preparing and delivering presentations and completed tender documents to prospective clients.
• Targeting clients across the private and public sector.
• Effective networking with potential customers
• Timely and accurate completion of tender questionnaires.
• Effective maintenance of Company sales database.
• Completion of accurate weekly sales activity reports
• Social media content and networking
For this role candidates must have at least 2 plus years experience selling a service solution ideally security services/man guarding solutions (knowledge of electronic security systems would be beneficial) with a proven track record of sales. Possess an understanding of the buying/sales processes and bid project management. You will have experience in cold calling, lead generation, and understand the tender and bid process. You must be able to manage your time and diary effectively to achieve set KPI's. Be able to achieve agreed and set annual targets Possess good IT skills with Microsoft products and outlook. A driving Licence and access to a car is required. Candidates must possess strong communication skills (both verbally and written) with good telephone and presentation skills. Demonstrate excellent levels of commercial awareness and have an excellent knowledge of the marketplace. Ambition, drive and self motivation is a must!
Salary £30k-£35k plus Commission, Vehicle Allowance, NEST Pension scheme and 30 Days Holiday
