Job Summary:
Leading by example, you will provide direction to your team enabling them to deliver and sustain customer, business and statutory requirements to an excellent standard in line with agreed service level agreements. Through the effective planning of stock, taking into consideration forecasts, back orders and backlog you will ensure that all resources are utilised efficiently to maximise output and minimise costs. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders you will ensure that scheduled materials are available when required through the effective management. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the stock integrity of the warehouse is audited, controlled and managed effectively including the daily updating of MRP/ERP system and all stock movements.
Main Duties and Resposibilities:
Planning of Stock Control, taking into consideration forecasts, back orders and backlog to maximise output
The Stores Manager will be responsible managing a team of up to 25 employees, the team will be responsible for: Goods In (check all incoming deliveries); Receipt and stock location; material supply to production area, stock rotation, carry quantity and visual inspections for quality purposes
Planning of cycle counts to ensure the stores and warehouse is counted across the week/month/year and prioritised based upon findings
Management of stock and supplier investigations to ensure the production planning process has a reduced level of down time due to inaccurate stock levels
Previous Stores experience ideally in a food manufacturing environment
Managing the office based Stock Control team and working with the Warehouse / Goods-In and Stores teams and managers
Support with the audit of stock and open purchase order position
Stores Manager and his/her team will liaise constantly with Production to ensure that scheduled materials are available on the shop floor when required
You will ensure that the MRP/ERP system is updated on a daily basis, and all stock movements are accurately maintained
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Educated to a good level of secondary education (A level or equivalent);
Work Experience:
Experienced in managing high volume goods in environment, ideally from a Food manufacturing environment.
Experience of managing inventory processes, forecasting, management of stock and purchasing.
Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge of Certified in Food Safety / Health and Safety; related certification desirable
Demonstrates strong Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft packages including databases and Excel
Knowledge of continuous improvement in the workplace.
Articulate with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills with good team working skills
