A lovely one-form-entry primary school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school from September.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting pupils with SEN across key stage 2. You will work with another SEN teaching assistant to rotate 1 to 1 support for three pupils with Autism and complex needs.

* The first pupil is in year 6. He has complex needs and requires support to access learning in the classroom and will require some support during playtimes.

* The second pupil is in year 4. He has been based in a specialist unit for pupils with Autism and complex needs and the school would like him to have support to re-integrate back in to the mainstream classroom. He will need emotional support alongside academic support to access activities in lessons.

* There is also a pupil who is joining year 3 in September. He has autism and SEMH needs. He will need mentoring to allow him to integrate in to the junior school including the change in the school day and changes to playtimes. He will need support in lessons too.

The school choose to use multiple Teaching Assistants to support pupils so they can build relationships with a range of adults. Your weekly timetable may also include running small intervention groups as well as supporting the identified pupils.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to ensure all pupils are appropriately supported and you will regularly be involved in reviews and assessments.

The school is a one form entry Church of England primary school with full-time nursery and 7 classes. They are situated in south Fulham and have the advantage of being surrounded by trees and allotments, creating a tranquil atmosphere for an inner city school. The established leadership team have a community focused approach and there are strong links with the local parish church keeping the Christian ethos at the centre of school life. There are good opportunities for career development at the school.
