Are you looking for a new opportunity within the catering industry, without working split shifts, late nights and every weekend?

This is a superb opportunity for a talented, experienced and self-motivated Chef to assist the team to deliver efficient and enticing menus for our residents. We are not the average care home, and we do not provide average food for our residents, we are more like a 5* hotel!

Oakham Grange is situated in the heart of the Barleythorpe community. We are a state-of-the-art facility with a brand-new kitchen, fantastic equipment and resources to work with. We don’t even monitor your budgets overly tightly, because our priority is giving you the ability to cook amazing food for our amazing residents, not profit.

You will need previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, and your duties will include preparing, cooking and presenting appetising, balanced and varied nutritious foods. You will ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times and the environment is safe, and you will also supervise and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants to be efficient within their roles, and deputise in the absence of the Head Chef.

The current catering team are professional, friendly, welcoming and kind group who are keen to welcome someone onboard who has a strong work ethic and a commitment to working supportively as part of the team. Our highly valued Head Chef has an impressive career to date having worked in several restaurants and hotels of note, both here and abroad.

You will support the Head Chef, and will have the opportunity to contribute to creating quality menus that are accessible to all residents, reflect seasonal changes and offer a good range of choices. Previous care home experience and knowledge of IDDSI would be an advantage, but in no way is essential as full training will be provided.

If you are enthusiastic about food, and want to be part of a lovely team that make a positive contribution to our residents lives, then we would love to hear from you. Working with us will give you a rewarding, challenging, diverse and exciting career, where no day is the same.

Oakham Grange is committed to protecting and safeguarding vulnerable adults and this role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

We don’t just accept difference, we welcome it. No matter what your sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, gender identity, religion or any other characteristic, we welcome your application. As a team we actively celebrate, support and thrive on diversity for the benefit of our residents and staff, and we believe this creates an environment of empowerment and mutual respect and therefore excellence in care.’
