Job Title:      Senior Contracts / Operations Manager

Department:      Grounds Maintenance

Location: Leatherhead

Reports to:     Operations Director

Salary Range:   £35,000 – £70,000 (Depending on experience), with bonus, car, phone, I pad and opportunity to become director/shareholder

JOB OUTLINE

This is a diverse role that ensures that no two days are the same!

To provide effective management of group activities to include:

Landscape Improvement & Installation across the SE
Japanese Knotweed excavations mainly across the SE but can be Nationwide
Winter maintenance to include gritting and snow clearance across the SE but can be Nationwide
Bulk Waste removal across the SE

The role will oversee day-to-day operations with full accountability and responsibility for service delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and support to operational teams to ensure delivery of department objectives.
Timely preparation & delivery of tender & quotation submissions.
Project planning, organisation & service delivery.
Manage the booking in of works via our bespoke 'Works Scheduling' system.
Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget & to contract specification.
Managing your projects & the client journey from sales to handover.
Ensuring companies quality standards are maintained.
Ensuring adherence to the companies Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Management of on-site Health & Safety to include preparation & submission of RAMS.
Liaising with the client, maintaining good relations, & ensuring that any agreed remedials are completed to the client's satisfaction.
Responsibility for the financial performance of all projects, including resource scheduling & procurement.
Pre-mobilisation site inspection and survey including risk assessments and site-specific instructions.
Day to Day responsibility for the Operations Team, including appraisals and inductions.
Efficient use & management of company resources.
Full P & L responsibility
Provision of detailed monthly service delivery and forecast reports for review by company directors.
Develop & build a team structure to ensure sustainable growth in line with company targets.
Research and implement new ways of working to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Build a network of reliable sub-contractors & suppliers to assist when required with programme delivery.
Regular review sub-contractor and supplier pricing & performance.

Manage equipment, machinery & vehicle allocation to include service & repairs.

Promote other group departments by Cross Selling services at every opportunity.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the position, which contribute to the purpose and objectives of the brand.

Key Skills and Behaviours:

Minimum 3 years' experience in Operations Management.
Exceptional Industry Supply Chain experience.
Management within a customer facing environment.
Successful improvements in KPI and Operational performance.
Business & Budget Management.
Experience in Soft Landscaping or Grounds Maintenance, good plant knowledge.
An effective Team Leader with demonstrable Operation Management experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Financially literate with experience of managing projects and resources in line with budgets.
IT literate with a good knowledge of MS Office applications and able to learn and grow our bespoke scheduling software.
An understanding of the practical, technical, financial, & qualitative requirements of a project.
Excellent organisation and time management skills – Multi service company so needs to be able to spin plates.
Strong leadership skills and takes ownership.
High attention to detail
